Greetings all. It is pouring and pouring and whipping up a gale outside on the hill, announcing a definite end to the summer and the arrival of colder nights and shorter days.
It's giving me pause to reflect on the last few months which have been a whirlwind of camping, acappella singing, walks by the sea, sand castles and more singing. In the last few weeks, I've been collaborating with an array of extraordinarily talented humans to create some really powerful art. And I get to call it work!
The photos above (from l-r) show a sunrise at Unicorn Natural Voice Camp where I taught this summer; the creative team on my most recent collaborative project 'Where We Grow' with Black Country Touring (final performances this weekend); and a camp fire at a singing camp organised by Roxane Smith at the idyllic Camp Plas in Mid-Wales.
Towards the end of August, I was involved in a beautiful project called 'Limitless' which was a celebration of art created by people (like me) with FND hosted by Linden Dance Company at mac, Birmingham in collaboration with charity FND Dimensions. The event included art, film, spoken-word, dance, song and music and I had the total pleasure of collaborating and performing with young dancer Tab Boho and singer and now songwriter Jeanette Clark - see beautiful photos by Dan Martin below. We're already planning a new show called 'FND The Musical' - watch this space!
