"Fascinating stuff... a sort of folk-meets-Laurie Anderson"
Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2

"Every time I see Katy play she knocks me over, makes me cry and lifts
my soul."
Tom Besford, English Folk Expo
In September 2021, Katy released 7th album, Alone On A Hill: a beautiful, emotionally raw yet ultimately joyful collection of multi-layered, a cappella vocal songs. It was written and recorded during lockdown and inspired by living in rural isolation on a hill on the edge of Birmingham for a year: songs of birds, trees, the wind; songs of surviving, growing peas and longing to sing with other people; Katy cites Brian Wilson, Bjork and Bobby McFerrin as particular influences.
That autumn, Katy formed a cappella vocal quartet The Frankley Beeches to recreate this unique album live and, together, they have been captivating audiences with their beautiful, intimate performances. Here's a recent live video from The Kitchen Garden Cafe, Birmingham.
