During this Lockdown (which I will call the
first 2020 lockdown), I have strangely been getting quite addicted to making videos of songs - something I've never had the inclination, time or energy to do in the past but which I now feel drawn to.
It started off back in March when I made some 4-part acappella videos to help my community choir keep singing. For a full playlist of those acappella videos, head over here:

I even made a video to encourage people to 'Stay Home Save Lives' inspired by The Pet Shop Boys. (This feels like a very long time ago!)
I also started privately making videos for friends and family's lockdown birthdays which helped remind me what a wonderful community I'm part of even when physically separated from people. Videos like this:
(NB everyone involved has given permission for the following video to be shared!)
I was lucky enough in May to receive an
Unlimited micro-commission with which I am creating 4 experimental acapella videos on the theme of Gratitude. The first one is this:
I've also been creating acappella covers of some of my favourite songs, including
'Complicated' by Lady Nade and
'Everything is Free' by Gillian Welch & David Rawlings.
In the last few weeks, I was commissioned by awesome Oxford-based acappella group
The Rivers to edit a video for them. I spent many hours working on this and I was really delighted by the result. It was launched on Tuesday 30th June - here it is:
Tomorrow, Friday 3rd July, I will be launching the collaborative video which I've edited together from contributions across the UK of my song 'One Day' - it will be premiered on the Americana UK website . I cannot wait to share it with you!
In the meantime, if anyone is looking for someone to edit a music video or to create an acappella arrangement of a song they love or to make a birthday music video for someone they love, drop me a line! :-)
Be kind. Stay safe.
