'Stay Home Save Lives' song

A few weeks ago, I recorded a parody of the Pet Shop Boys/Village People song 'Go West' to encourage folk to #StayHome #SaveLives and #ProtectTheNHS during the COVID-19 Lockdown, as featured on the English Folk Expo website here.

Thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes.
It started off really well and I had a lovely brunch at @caneatcafe

And then, as has so often been the case in the last few years, my body decides it’s had enough for the day. I cancel all the other lovely plans (like singing with my choir and drinking Prosecco in the park with my pals- they’ll save for another day), put my pjs on and go to bed…

And it’s ok.
And that is the learning for me in the last 3 years. Acceptance.
Acceptance that this is what happens sometimes.
Three years ago, I’d have been furious and simultaneously self-pitying and self-flagellating.
Today, however, acceptance and self-compassion. ❤️

That, my friends, is progress!
Here’s to growing old!
